Don’t just take our word, here’s what our parents say...
Parent and family comments;
I just wanted to say a big thank you to Mr Dawson and Mr Rayner for giving up their Saturday, and for all of their encouragement for the boys A team this weekend. Although getting through to the semi finals, they lost on penalties. The boys did amazing though and they all showed great team spirit. Thanks again.

To Ms White & SEN Team - My child can’t wait for Fridays, they love horse riding and tells us everything they been taught spending time with Lucky the horse who they adore, on behalf of my wife and myself we thank you so much for giving them this opportunity. Happy parents of a SEN KS2 child
Thank you to all the staff who supported Elliot today, for acting so quickly and helping to put him at ease. We are very grateful! Parents of a KS1 child who had an accident
I would also like to say what a great parents evening it was last night l, it ran so smoothly I literally walked in a couple of mins before my apt and was seen straight away. Mr Fuller is such a lovely enthusiastic teacher and I am so excited for my son to be taught by him this year, the TA alongside him was also such a lovely lady, I didn’t catch her name sadly. I really hope my son is back to school soon so he can enjoy learning with the wonderful teaching staff in his class. Many thanks. Parent of Y5 Pupil
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the management, teachers, and staff at William Harding for providing a safe and supportive learning environment for my children. Thank you once again. KS2 Parent
I am writing this email to you to say a Big Thank You for all the education and support given to my child and of course to the entire school children. The office team are providing a sterling service, always happy to help attitude and make us feel comfortable to communicate with them happily. He had a wonderful time studying in your school. I cannot thank about a day where he came home complaining of bullying or not coping with the teacher. In fact it looks like they are all more like a siblings than peers. I take this moment to appreciate how well you are running this school so professionally and efficiently, including wonderful teacher team, all the members of the school staff. Once again we are very proud of the school and having our child study at William Harding. Parent of Pupil Leaving Y6
Just wanted to email and thank all involved in the family school picnic. This was our third time attending and it was the most relaxed atmosphere. It was a wonderful environment and a great opportunity to see our children interacting with their peers and chatting with other parents. WHS Parent
I just wanted to say a massive well done to all the Year 6 staff and anyone else who helped with the year 6 production of Bugsy Malone. It was amazing to watch. All the children did so well. I was thoroughly impressed. William Harding is a big school, as we know, but everyone was included in whatever they did, whether it be acting, IT, art /making, etc. The whole production was very impressive. On a separate subject, my son thoroughly enjoyed the transition games at the Grange today so thank you to the school for allowing them to participate. Thank you Year 6 teachers. Parent of Pupil Leaving
To be honest, my two children are not very happy about leaving the school because they had great time and enjoyed every day of school. Also they made good friends and build relationships. I want to thank you all for all your support, help and kindness that kids received from every teacher and from every member of staff this year. They had an amazing time at William Harding School and without your help this would’ve not been possible. Parent of pupils leavers
As we’re moving to the end of year 5 for us/my daughter I wanted to pass on my gratitude to Miss Barlow; she’s been a wonderful teacher for her this year. I know it’s not been easy but Miss Barlow has been such a support for us & her; she’s worked with her enthusiasm & has kept her motivated getting some really good results. I feel that she has grown & developed so well in the last year & that’s hugely been due to Miss Barlow’s patience & support. Thankyou; the next Chatsworth class is a very fortunate class! Enjoy your Summer Miss Barlow & all at WH when that well-deserved break comes along. Year 5 Parent
I just wanted to say what a positive transition day both had. Both are happy with teachers and their TAS which is so helpful! My child thinks Mr McClean is great and already seems to have great understanding of her and a way to work with her whereby she doesn't have to speak which I can tell is already making her feel less anxious as a whole. I think this could be someone she could learn to trust as an adult which will help immensely. I just wanted to tell you positive feedback and what a great match I think he will be in helping her next year! Well done! Year 4 & 5 Parent
I just wanted to take the time to thank you for putting together an awesome sporting event for our children. It was well organised, fun and inclusive. It was evident that the students had been inspired and encouraged by their teachers, as they displayed remarkable teamwork, determination, and respect. Thank you so much for all that the school and your staff are doing to encourage such wonderful and positive behaviour and morals in your students. Parent of a child in Year 6
This is just a quick email to say thank you for another wonderful sports day for the year 1's. We wanted to say thank you to the year 6's whom supported the smaller pupils, with a special mention of Amelia. She was so kind, patient and a complete cheerleader throughout which was seen and appreciated by all. What a lovely natured young lady. Parent of child in Year 1
I want to thank all of you and her teachers for being so amazing It has been a wonderful time with all of you.
Parent of child in year 1
I just wanted to pass on our thanks and praise to the Y3 team. The children were totally brilliant - it was great to see so many smiling engaged faces. Seeing the hugely supportive staff, Ms Williams crouched down at the front supporting those who needed it, Mr Stallwood giving thumbs up at the back when voices were projected enough , Ms Sharp geeing them along, Mr Liddle being very welcoming and encouraging, Mr Powell helping from the side plus many others. Really emphasised how lucky we are. We felt really proud to be part of the school community. The assembly was really inclusive too. Year 3 Parent
My daughter started in Poppy room at William Harding preschool in September 2023. When she started Preschool she had very little confidence and could not talk or walk unaided. From September to October we saw a really positive change in her. She was trying to say more and her confidence was building. She finished preschool for Christmas and that evening she walked on her own. This was huge! When she returned to preschool in January, her class mates and all her teachers were delighted that she is now walking unaided. Katie had started to put an EHCP together for her. This actually started in June 2023. Katie has kept me updated throughout and ensured the plan is ready for her school start in September. Katie and the team in Poppy room have been fantastic with her care. She has thrived in Poppy room. She is now a happy, walking and talking little girl. Preschool has played a huge part in her development. We are confident that she will start school in September and continue to flourish. Preschool Parent
We are expressing our deepest gratitude towards the school for all your support and dedication in developing our kids in different ways. We are proud of the best experience they have ever received from you at this time period. Year 1, 4 & 5 Parent
I just wanted to pass on my thanks and compliments on the way come and read and easter craft was delivered this week. I was really impressed with the energy and behaviour in Willow Class. My daughter is so happy in Ms Williams Class, it’s easy to see why, she has a lovely calm and nurturing approach - it was also really nice to see interactions with Mr Powell and Mr McClean - the way they managed different groups, I liked the way they spoke to the children and you could tell they are well respected and create a lot of engagement. Thank you for all you do and I hope everyone has a lovely Easter break. Year 3 Parent
I truly believe that what you and your team have accomplished and continue to achieve is remarkable. I have learnt an incredible amount as I said, observing you all and at times assisting.
Parent Governor
What an amazing team you all are and how you have really helped to settle the year group!
Parent of a pupil in Year 1 and 6
I just want to say thank you so much for all you have done for my child. I know that the SEN team, teachers and TA’s have all had my child's best interests at heart and done your very best to support us. Please can you pass on my thanks to my child's TA, they really have been fantastic and I am so grateful to them. They have developed a great relationship with my child and I feel so comfortable knowing that they understood them. I also know that my child really likes them which from him is high praise indeed!! Year 4 Past Parent
Thanks for the support staff have given my child regarding the rooming arrangements at Woodrow for the Year 4 residential. My child said 'he had the time of his life' Year 4 Parent
The Year 6 SAT presentation, praise for the content slides as well as the staff presentation of information and answering questions - it was really handy! Year 6 Parent
This school is so good, we have come from another school and they don't do anything like you do. It was lovely to see the pupils being celebrated. Thank you, we really enjoyed it. KS2 parent talking about the Star of the half term assembly
My child was only able to manage a situation as well as she did, due to the behavioural teachings that she received at William Harding. Ultimately, you all prepared her so well, that she could manage this situation perfectly and knew what is unacceptable and when to ask for that help! I'm really grateful and truly for all you taught her. Thanks so much. Year 6 Past Parent
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the efforts the teachers made making River Dart such a big success. My son really enjoyed it. Year 6 Parent
Firstly, I would like to thank Mr Raynor, Mr Dawson, Mr Irwin and the other members of staff that gave up their Saturday to take the boys football team to the tournament on Saturday 14th October. The encouragement and support they showed to my son and the other boys in the team was fantastic.
Secondly, I would like to thank the staff that took the children to River Dart. I was very nervous about my son going on this trip due to his anxieties. However I needn’t have worried. Mr Dawson has been an amazing support to him and I know he felt happy and secure being looked after by him during these 5 days.
All the staff made this trip so much fun, he has not stopped talking about the activities he took part in, and the fun he had with his teachers. I know he will always have really fond memories of this trip and the adventures he had. For the first time in a long time I have a very settled happy boy, who although is still hesitant to go into school, comes home the majority of the time telling me he has had a good day. I really appreciate the effort Mr Dawson has spent to get to know my son and what motivates him.
I believe I have Mr Irwin to thank to for pushing him along a bit in maths and bringing the best out of him. His confidence has really grown and he is now starting to believe in himself a bit more, especially in this subject. Year 6 Parent
Thank you to all the teachers and staff who gave their time for our children and for making such amazing
memories for them. Hope you have a relaxing week off, you deserve it 😃 Year 6 Parent
I want to thank ALL the teachers/staff that supported my son on the River Dart trip, he had an amazing time and has really good memories to take forward with him and thank you because he will now eat baked beans!! 😀. He has nothing but praise for each and every one of you, so thank you so very much for giving up your personal time to make this trip happen for him and all the other children that attended. A thank you also needs to go to Mrs Bone and all the other staff that coordinated the drop off and collection, thank you for getting up early Monday and giving up your Friday evening! Year 6 Parent
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the staff that were involved in the River Dart trip. My son has had a fantastic time and hasn’t stopped telling us all about it, the caving and the puddings were definitely big hit with him! I hope you all enjoy a restful half term!! Year 6 Parent
The results alone, evidence the hard work and effort that is consistently going into the teaching and support that our pupils receive. As governors however, we also view the results more holistically, taking into account the wider context within which they've been achieved. We understand the challenges faced, and feel that the SLT and teaching teams should be very proud of what has been accomplished. We'd like to express our appreciation for their continuing dedication to delivering the very best for the children. It's a positive set of results and we hope that the teaching teams take pride in them. On behalf of the Governors, a big thank you for all that is being done to provide the best for our pupils. Parent Governor September 2023
On behalf of the Governors, I'd be grateful if you could pass on thanks to the premises team and other colleagues who supported this work. On the face of it, a new carpet, fresh paint or space reshuffle is cosmetic but the impact is much more important. What the changes have done is provide an environment that is more conducive to learning, and also better meets the needs of the teaching and support staff, both of which are so important. Parent Governor
Following on from your school feedback document on the recent school communications I would like to share my feedback for Ms Dempsey in Honeysuckle class. Ms Dempsey & her team have been fantastic with my daughter. At the start of the year she was not looking forward to starting school as she did not have a good experience at her preschool. She was immediately made to feel at ease in Honeysuckle & settled in quickly. I have been amazed at how much she has progressed academically. We were previously told at her preschool that she was behind in a lot of areas & would struggle at school. I now know I had nothing to worry about as she has flourished in class & absolutely believe it’s down to Ms Dempsey & her team.
Ms Dempsey has always greeted us every morning with a friendly smile & has always been approachable.
My daughter & I are absolutely gutted to be losing Ms Dempsey as her teacher but I thought I would share this feedback as Ms Dempsey & her team deserve recognition for all the amazing work they do. Please pass this feedback onto Ms Dempsey & her team. They are a credit to William Harding. Reception Parent
I just wanted to extend my gratitude to Miss Brown for being an excellent teacher. She truly loves her job and makes every child feel special. My daughter has had the pleasure of having Miss Brown as her teacher this year in reception and we couldn’t have asked for any better. As parents of a child with extra needs we were very worried about her starting school but she settled in well and has loved every moment and that is all thanks to Miss Brown and the TA’s. She is now excited for year 1 but will miss her reception teachers.
We have the pleasure of having Miss Brown as my sons teacher this year. We look forward to seeing you all in September. Have a lovely summer holidays. Reception Parent
The year 6 team have for the second year made their last few weeks at the school so memorable. What a wonderful send off you have given them all. Year 6 Parent
Dear Year 6 team, I just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of you ! I've been blown away by the send off you have organised for the children (prom, BBQ, inflatables, leavers assembly etc etc...) You went well above and beyond what I could imagine. Your creativity and your energy were an absolute pleasure to see and your work as a team in all this end of year activities and treats has been wonderful. You are all amazing and I am full of gratitude for all you have done. My daughter has been very very lucky to be part of this school ! Now I wish you all a very well deserved rest and a wonderful summer holiday. All the best for the future. Year 6 Parent
I am really impressed with how you do MUSU at William Harding and how you manage to make it work so well with an extra year group - New Year 5 Parent
I wanted to send a quick email to say thank you to Miss Bone, Mr Stallwood, Mr Irwin and all the other staff involved in the year 6 leavers prom on Friday. The boys had the best night and the effort put in by all the staff was clearly evident. You gave them a great send off and a night I'm sure they will all remember forever! They all deserve recognition for going above and beyond and what an amazing team they are. Thank you again - Year 6 Parent
Year 6 team thank you!!! Last night was a massive success you really have gone above & beyond with this event; we thank you very much! My daughter & her friends had the best time! Roll on more fun for their last week! - Year 6 Parent
First and foremost, my husband and I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation for the wonderful work you have done with our eldest son this year during year 2. Honestly, I had never imagined he'd even come home with a reader of the week certificate let alone two in one year! The difference in his reading and confidence is huge from last year and he's definitely a much happier boy with his school work. For this no gift or thank you card could ever explain how grateful we are. Personally, as a mother I couldn't have hoped for a better year 2 teacher for Daniel than you. Secondly, I wanted to say a huge thank you for your kindness and help with my youngest son when he decided he did not want to come into school at the gates on Thursday morning! Just knowing he was walking with his brother and you safely into school made my stressful morning a lot easier. Your new class are lucky bunch to have you! Wishing you a lovely and relaxed summer (although as a fellow teacher I know that school is never too far from your thoughts!) - Parent
Wow! What great work from all the kids; please pass on our thanks to all staff involved making that so successful. All children knew their place they all conducted themselves with such professionalism. Soo good!! Well done Mr Irwin & team Year 6! Year 6 Parent - leavers performance
Dear Mr Rayner - an early thank you for being the best PE Teacher we've had at WH. The boys love the clubs and playing football at WOW Club with you.
Having attended the Year 4 Sports Day yesterday and the Year 2 Sports Day today, you really need to be very proud of Mr Rayner and Miss Bagshaw for delivering the best Sports Day I have ever attended at William Harding. Despite the changing of dates, the one year group only format really worked as you could stand by the playground and the astro and actually see your child taking part. Please, please keep this format going forward and give everyone involved a huge amount of praise. The children were engaged and enjoyed it and as a parent I felt involved as opposed to last year where I didn't see one of my children and they came home complaining that they only did one station of the carousel. Well done Mr Rayner & Miss Bagshaw.
Yesterday I attended the Year 3 sports day and I just wanted to say a big thank you, and congratulations, to Mr Rayner and all the other staff members involved. It was a lovely event and despite the need for last minute rearranging, it ran very smoothly - in fact, you'd never have known that the team had to completely rethink it at short notice! Although I appreciate the extra work created by running it in year groups, from my perspective it was ideal. We were able to see our children, cheer them on, interact with the activities and staff and it made for a really fun atmosphere. My son also enjoyed it which is even more important. Please do pass on my thanks to all involved, for putting on a really successful event. I hope that other parents will also feed back to you as I heard many positive comments on the day and also at school drop off and pick up since. I hope the weather holds for the remaining events 🙂 Year 3 Parent
Huge thank you to Mr Rayner & all the teachers for their efforts with this years’ sports days, we thoroughly enjoyed it & I can only imagine what efforts Mr Rayner & team had to go to make this event happen this year. Mr Rayner was engaging & welcoming to all us parents & kept us informed of what was going on & you can see how popular & inspiring he is with the kids, a joy to see. Thanks again! Pat on the back to all concerned.
We have received wonderful feedback regarding the sports days. Parents commented on the fact that they could see their children take part in activities as there was a smaller number of parents watching. They commented on how much fun the children and staff were having and the children were not outside for long in the heat.
To all the teachers involved in the year 3 sports day today. It was brilliant. Very well organised. You could see all the activities and the kids seem to thoroughly enjoy themselves even in the heat. Thank you. Year 3 Parent
I just wanted to thank your wonderful staff especially Miss Wainwright and Mrs Lewis for the care they gave my child in class today. I’m sure it's not easy managing an entire class whilst trying to give my child the care they needed at that time. They are a credit to the school. Also to the staff on the front gate who didn’t hesitate when I asked them if I could get to the office quickly in my initial panic and the office staff themselves who acted professionally and with kindness. Upper KS2 parent
I just wanted to say thank you for organising the camp activity day today. Joshua had a fantastic time! Apparently, he enjoyed every activity and has not stopped talking about it. I definitely think that the school should look into offering some forest school activities. Year 3 Parent
Could you please pass on my thanks to year 3 pupils and teachers. It was so nice to be able to go and see my children in an assembly today (haven’t seen them since reception) and the turn out of parents was amazing. Year 3 Parent
You and your staff never fail to impress me with their professionalism and how they conduct themselves in each of the tasks I’ve been lucky enough to observe them as a team. Parent Governor on monitoring the administration of the KS2 SATs
Thanks for your cooperation and all the help, our son really enjoyed his short tenure in the school and will miss his class.
I wanted to pass on my thanks to Mr Raynor & the year 6 team for the great work providing the girls with so many enjoyable matches this season; they’ve had a great time & have played some great football too. Mr Raynor is always so encouraging in his coaching style & you can see how well the girls react to that encouragement. Please pass on my thanks to Mr Raynor & the Year 6 team.
I would like to take this opportunity to say how nice it was to meet the new Monday and Tuesday teacher for Rowan class yesterday at come read. Really approachable and friendly.
Thank you to Miss Valji, Mr Raynor & everyone else for giving up their time to make Woodrow such a success…Jasmine had a brilliant time; thank you so so much! Hope all can soon have a nice long bath & get warm! Thank you again 😊
I would like to say thanks for the whole Team in William Harding especially to all the Teachers for putting so much effort. She had a great time and made very good friends in school over the last year.
I know at WH we communicate with the parents for all matters very quickly and the parents don't actually realise how great we are at this. Staff member and parent at another school
I just wanted to pass on my thanks for the open classroom session yesterday. It was so lovely to spend some time with my daughter and see her class work and chat with her teacher. It was well organised and I felt very welcome. I thought it was a great idea that you were selling refreshments - I certainly like to feel I’m contributing and I think many other parents feel the same way. We also understand the financial constraints you are under.
We were really happy that he has been taken care of well and he learnt good values from you. We are very thankful to you always. Year 3 parent
I just wanted to say thank you for the opportunity to join the Year 3 trip to Waddesdon Manor this week, as a parent volunteer. It was a lovely day and I really enjoyed seeing all the children so happy and excited together. I was also really impressed with the behaviour of Beech class (the group I was with). They were a pleasure to be with and even the volunteers inside the Manor commented on how well behaved they were. Please pass on my thanks to Mr Dinham, Miss Turner, Miss Garner and the rest of the Year 3 team.
Thank you for having a positive input towards my son’s upbringing. I and my wife will be there to celebrate him. Thank you.
‘I just wanted to pop a quick email to say thank you. I cannot express how much I appreciate the IPM being so accurate and for Miss Laugie knowing and understanding her so thoroughly. I left parents evening feeling like she is going to continue to make progress this year and grow in confidence and as a person. Thank you both for your hard work, our family really appreciate it.’ Year 4 Parent
‘It’s hard to find the words to speak highly enough of them all!’ Pre-school Parent
‘I am writing to thank you all for doing an amazing job! The help support and enthusiasm you have given my child has changed their attitude profoundly to the point of waking me up on a school morning because they want to come to school. The reasons are that school is fun, exciting and positively challenging. Their confidence and behaviour has improved tenfold since starting at William Harding not only towards schooling but also in general at home and out and about. I genuinely cannot thank you enough for everything you have done and are continuing to do.’ Year 2 Parent
‘I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to every single member of staff for all they have done for (my son) this week. It wasn't easy letting him go on the trip, as you all know he can not only be challenging but also with being extremely sensory with food and drink. Thank you so much to Miss Laing for caring for him during his period of being home sick. You've all been amazing!! Please enjoy half term and get lots of rest!’
‘I would just like to say thank you for the amazing updates regarding the delays to the return journey. I truly appreciate it and know a lot of the other parents are grateful too.’
‘Please pass onto the Year 6 team & all involved with our gratification for all the hard work that went into making the River Dart such a success. (my daughter) simply had ‘THE BEST TIME EVER’!! Her words…. She didn’t stop talking about it for days after coming home; memories truly made for a lifetime. Thanks again; your staff have been incredible; that goes for the coach drivers & all the River Dart staff too; they all played their part into making is such a success.’ Year 6 Parent
‘I just wanted to say, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your wonderful words. Your words felt genuine and authentic. And you can tell you really understand him. For a teacher to understand their pupils in this way is a priceless quality. We’ve seen the change since July, and we wish to thank you for all you have done to grow his mind and free his spirit. Thank you for believing in him.’
‘Just wanted to thank you for the positive detailed homework comments you have been leaving, he has been enjoying reading them. I know the other parents have also been very happy about them too. It really helps keep kids motivated and feel like their work is appreciated. The kids are also very into these times tables competitions so well done for making learning fun. Thanks for all your hard work.’ Year 3 parent
‘I wanted to formally give my thanks for Mr Rayner who was wonderful looking after the Girls’ team last Saturday. They played really well & I was particularly impressed with Mr Raynor’s direction, encouragement & support. It’s no wonder that my daughters talk highly of him, I can see why first hand!’ Year 4 parent
‘Good evening, I just want to say well done on your Ofsted result and thank you so much for the way you’ve welcomed and nurtured her. I would like to thank you for all the love and support and excellent education she receives from attending your school.’ Year 3 parent

You have been an incredible teacher who has shown the kids the passion and drive to do well which they so badly needed. My son will definitely miss you and we wish you all the best for the future. Thank you so much'
‘I wish you all the best in your career and thank you one more time for the support that you gave to my child’.
‘I wanted to say thank you for all the leavers activities and special events the year 6 team have put on for the children. The assembly this morning was wonderful. The year 6 team have been amazing this year, what a lovely send off they have given the children and lovely memories they have of William Harding school. Mr Irwin has been a fantastic teacher to my child, I’m sure my daughter will have a great year in year 6 in September too.’ Year 6 parent
‘Brilliant school .Best school any of my children have been to including secondary schools .This school has changed my little boys school life around since we moved to the area .Previously due to medical issues he found school very stressful and would worry every day before he entered the classroom but since he started William Harding he literally drags me rout the door each morning .Looking forward to his school day. Couldn't be more impressed by William Harding. I know a lot of the parents complain about communication from the school. I personally have never had a problem with this and I would go far as saying they exceed my expectations in this area. This School is a brilliant asset to our community.’
‘I wish you all the best in your career and thank you one more time for the support what you gave to my child’ Year 6 leaver parent
‘I just want to say a huge thank you to all at William Harding that made the year 6 leavers’ disco so special. My son had the most amazing time and they really did such an amazing job. 'Please can you pass this message to the teachers in year 4 who took our children to Woodrow a very big thank you and my child had the best time. Hats off to the teachers thank you so much. Please say big thank you to Mrs Iyer and Miss Bird for helping her in all her work. We are very proud of her. Have a lovely summer.' Year 4 parent
'I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff involved in organising and running the Woodrow trip. Trips such as these are so important to help our children learn some independence away from home and to have quality time with their peers. My daughter loved every minute (although scared of the ghost stories) and she especially commented on Mrs Cleaver and Miss Iyer’s dancing! Well done everyone, thank you. Have a wonderful summer.' Year 4 parent
'Many thanks for highlighting the unbelievable work by Ben, Jordan and Lewis (and many other that were involved organising Friday's event).
From a parent's view, this Year 6 has been hit hard over the past 2.4 years, cancelled events, cancelled adventure training and weeks away. To have had an evening like last Friday for the children was extremely special and thoughtful. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself as did all of her friends. The final touch of their exit from the disco was very impressive.
I thank you all as I'm sure all of the parents do for all of your efforts, not just Friday night but over the entire year. You deserve your summer of rest and I hope you all make the most of your time but please do so knowing that your work is extremely appreciated.' Year 6 parent
'My child will leave school on Wednesday to start his new chapter in secondary school. Before he goes I would like to say a big Thank you'.
He started his Year 6 journey in a new class with a new teacher, after his first day with Mr Dawson I knew he was in for a good year. He warmed to Mr Dawson very quickly and they seemed to hit it off straight away, a fabulous balance of fun and learning. Elliot quickly labelled him as ‘One of the best’. Throughout his time time in Year 6 he has grown in confidence and has made strong friendships with a range of children. One of the highlights of school was joining in with football after school and spending quality time with yourself, Mr Dawson, Mr Irwin and Mr Rayner.
Reading through his school report you can see that Mr Dawson knows my child extremely well, not only did it reflect his true personality but also highlighted challenges that he faced during the year.
As a parent you can only hope that your child enjoys their time at school and Mr Dawson has exceeded all expectations of a good teacher. Thank you to all the Year 6 team for giving my child his best year at William Harding, we will forever remember his time with you all. Enjoy a well deserved rest over the summer’ Year 6 parent
'Thank you so much for organising the beach trip. My child had a great time and has not stopped talking about it. I know it must have taken a lot of effort and been very stressful, so I just wanted you to know how much we appreciated it.' Year 2 parent
'I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the Year 2 staff for the beach trip today. Teachers don't get the credit for how much work goes into planning and carrying off a school trip but this was amazing. I have a very happy little child who has not stopped telling me how brilliant the day has been. An amazing opportunity for the children and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you.' Year 2 parent
‘I would like to say a huge well done to Miss Timberlake, Mr Rayner and the rest of KS1 team at sports day on Tuesday morning. I personally had a fab time watching the children at all the different stations, both teachers and pupils looked like they were having a fantastic time dancing around and competing against each other. Was also lovely that we could walk up and down the field so that we could see our child on the different stations and didn’t miss anything. So would like to thank you and say a huge well done for managing to organise a wonderful sports day at William Harding school.’ KS1 parent
'From a parents view of the afternoon, it was an impressive event that had clearly been organised to the very highest degree. The general feeling from the opinions that I was privy to was how impressed the parents were, firstly to see a Sports Day after such a long break and how engaged the children were with each event they took part in and also the obvious effort that each of the staff had put into the afternoon. I’m sure I echo the thoughts of all of the parents when I say a big thank you for making the afternoon such a fantastic Sports Day.' KS2 parent regarding Sports Day
'Good morning Miss Cotchin, I just wanted to thank the year 4 team for putting on the year 4 assembly today. It was lovely to get back into school for a family event.' Year 4 parent
'I am overwhelmed with the support I had from your staff. I cannot tell you how much this means to me. i know parents are quick enough to complain, it’s nice to recognise the wonderful things about William Harding too. So thank you to your staff for making a stressful morning not so stressful and please pass my thanks to these staff members.' Pre-school parent
‘My wife and I would like to thank the school, teachers and staff for all support given to our child in the last couple of years’.
'I'm not sure an e-mail is enough really - but I wanted to reach out with our heartfelt thanks to the school for your support. Our experiences meant we already knew it was a lovely school, however this has been further compounded by our experiences. From the outset Mrs Bone and Mrs Skinner have been communicative, warm and nurturing. Miss Garner and her TAs have been thoroughly welcoming and taken on board the changing circumstances and supported accordingly. She has come on leaps and bounds both academically and socially in Foxglove’.
Miss Allen and Mrs Wright in particular have supported in turn, particularly emotionally, we've really appreciated this. Miss Timberlake has taught her that she can enjoy PE and we have seen such a growth in her confidence. The FLO's and Mr Thorpe's welcome at the gate in the morning, always a friendly smile and concern for the children. This makes a big impact.' KS1 parent
‘The kids were clearly enjoying the lesson; it was lovely to see and hear them laughing‘ KS1 & KS2 parent who had walked past the KS2 playground during a PE lesson
’We are extremely happy at your school and have been thrilled to be back after the summer with assemblies taking place again and the removal of class bubbles’

Open classroom praise 'loved coming in to see the books and seeing the great work they are already completing in class'.'
‘I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have done for my child during his time at William Harding and in particular at after school club. You really made a difference to his time there, especially with all the sports stuff on the field. The two things that he says he has missed in year 6 due to the pandemic are River Dart (so you could throw him in the water) and being part of the school football team with you and Mr Stallwood. I wish you all the best in your future teaching career’
‘Our daughter joined Reception Class in 2020 and I wanted to let you know how happy we have been with the Reception Team. It's truly been a seamless operation, we have felt so secure in the knowledge that our daughter has been kept safe, engaged, respected and encouraged every step of the way. Their bubble has not burst throughout, this is a real feat and should be highly commended. Receiving our child's report this week really emphasised to us what a great year it's been, the teacher and her team know our daughter so well, a whole lot of care has gone into the reports and we really appreciate the feedback. They have really brought out the best in her. The teacher has been so approachable and understanding, communication both ways has been exceptional. Our daughter has enjoyed such a variety of activities and learning - it has made the transition easy. MUSU has also been thought through so well, this gradual approach from Reception and Year 1 has meant there's no anxiety in the move to Year 1 (for children and parents!)
I cannot imagine how much work has been put in by the Leadership Team to ensure Covid compliance as well as all manner of other safeguards to ensure the safety of all the pupils and staff in such a large school. We appreciate how visible the Leadership Team and FLO team are, how friendly the front office staff are - it all really makes a difference.
Thank you for all that you do, we are very lucky to be part of the school community.
Wishing you all a lovely summer.’
‘Just wanted to thank the teacher for his wonderful teaching this year, my child really enjoyed the attention & patience shown to her, we could tell on the first parents evening back in October that he knew our child very well in deed. She’s blossomed & grown in confidence under his guidance. The next group of children are very fortunate to have this teacher leading them.’
‘Seeing my child's face on the morning they could return to school after the long period of home schooling was a real pleasure.’
‘We would just like to say a special thanks to a wonderful school where our children have been very happy!’
‘I would like to pass on my thanks and appreciation to you for everything you have done during the pandemic. It can't have been easy but you have been very organised. I am very impressed with the way preparations for the transition from reception to year one has been handled as it has made it easier than would've been otherwise. My child has loved his first year in Reception and is looking forward to going up to year 1.’

‘Just wanted to send a quick email to say thank you for all the work that has gone into the remote learning. The dojo site is so good and having clips to watch as well as the work makes it much more interactive. Really love that my child has already had feedback on her work. Just wanted to let you know how much the school staff are appreciated- thank you!’
‘A massive thank you to everyone involved in planning for the start to this term. I cannot imagine how much effort it took.’
